Sue Jacobs

I was born and bred in Sonning attending the village school, the Guides and later as a member of the Royal British Legion, Sonning Branch. My middle years were spent rearing my two sons in Tilehurst where I served my time on the board of governors at their local primary school.

My roots have very much always been in Sonning where my Great Grandfather came in 1854 and started Sonning Dairy in Thames Street. Subsequently a family line followed of which I am the fourth generation to be living in the same house.

All of my forebears gave back to the village by way of working for the people through various organisations within the village so with this background very much in my heart I am pleased to be able, through Sonning Parish Council, to be giving something back towards the growth and prosperity of Sonning and to keep the village ethic very much alive.
